Linksys wireless router validating identity
Since routers don't need drivers could this be possible?
Would I still need to run a cable from my linksys to the new router and bridge the connection?
I am using the Windows Wireless Connection Manager.
On a couple of occasions I've seen that particular AP (don't know what firmware) suddenly stop attempting to authnenticate clients (it never sends any RADIUS requests) and power-cycling the AP "fixes" the issue.
The wireless connection of this system works fine, but when connected via the LAN connector, you will see that little connection animation (which you see when you get a DHCP address assigned as well)but only now it tells "Validating Identity" The connection works so their is no real problem, it's just very annoying. Product: DIR-655 - HW Version: A2 - FW Version: 1.33NAb01Product: DAP-1522 - HW Version: A1 FW: 1.20Product: DWA-643 - HW Version: A1 - FW Version: 2.0Product: DWA-160 - HW Version: A1 - FW Version: 1.20 EProduct: DCS-1130 - HW Version: A1 - FW Version: 1.01hmmm..question....
I have 3 routers ( Linksys wrt300n - Netgear wnr854t - D-link DIR-655 ) no SMC....I just tried to connect to them all, one at a time, with my Lenovo T60 laptop..I cant get the animation ( not in Win XP nor Win Vista - running dualboot)In the windows versions it is possible to disable the animation function..Vista just rightclick on the animation an disable XP go to settings and network connections and rightclik on your LAN connection and choose propertiesand remove the "Show icon in notificationarea when connected"Product: DIR-655 - HW Version: A2 - FW Version: 1.33NAb01Product: DAP-1522 - HW Version: A1 FW: 1.20Product: DWA-643 - HW Version: A1 - FW Version: 2.0Product: DWA-160 - HW Version: A1 - FW Version: 1.20 EProduct: DCS-1130 - HW Version: A1 - FW Version: 1.01That's good for getting rid of the symptom, but doesn't solve the cause I want to know why i get this message when using the dir-655 and not when using another router.
I have a WRT54G V5 that handles our network, I also have a Trendnet TEW-432BRP » ··· 33156038 laying around the house.
I'd start by reviewing the event logs on your IAS server for reasoning as to why it's not authenticating your client.
now able to get network list and router name is in list but stuck on validating identity, what do i need to finish on the laptop in order to get it to login? This will help me to focus instructions for getting you connected.
Can you get to a dialog box that shows the "Properties" for your wireless networks. my next project is trying to put office 2003 in but the disk i have is stopping on " can not find yh561411" i guess i have a bad disc.
ensure that the wireless drivers are updated to the latest version.
I changed the settings for the wireless connection from "obtain IP/DNS Automatically" and put in the various addresses...
Example: Trend Net's LAN IP: 192.168.10.1 DHCP server range is 192.1 to 192.1Linksys would be 192.168.10.2so within the linksys router it needs to be 192.168.10.2do I always have to re-connect it to my wireless lan when I move it? Took longer than I thought it would putting ddwrt on my wrt54G, but man it's worth it! My wireless bridge (linksys) will constantly keep a connection while on xbox live. It also says that it's "validating identity" when connecting.
